    Three African countries to withdraw from the International Criminal Court

    The proposed withdrawal of Burundi, South Africa and Gambia from the International Criminal Court is ‘a poor reflection on these countries that are merely seeking impunity’ says the Executive Director of African Legal Aid, Evelyn Ankumah.  She is the editor of ‘The International Criminal Court and Africa - One Decade On’.  Several human rights organizations in The Hague have criticized the withdrawals from the ICC and expressed their concern about further withdrawals. Lily-Anne Stroobach asked Evelyn Ankumah about Africa's current perspective on the ICC.
